Following our committee meeting where William Cairns representative from the charity walking with the wounded attended and discussed with us a proposal to work in partnership with the charity to support their members to learn more about the art of fishing. William explained a bit about the charity and those who benefit from it. The charity aims to support ex servicemen in their quest to remain socially included and experience activities and events to support their emotional health and well being. Following Williams presentation it is with delight that we have agreed to work in partnership with the charity.
Followers of our facebook page will already be aware that several of their members have attended our fly tying nights.
We are planning with William a series of events through 2024 where we will look to offer the veterans a day up the Loch fishing for Salmon, camping enjoying a brew up on one of the islands. We are also looking to teach them about fly fishing, casting. To do this we are looking to arrange a series of workshops.
As we are a community resource we are now looking for our members to volunteer in any of the aforementioned areas to support the veterans.
If you are willing to support this worthy cause can you reply via any of our social media outlets and we can discuss what you are prepared to offer. In previous discussions with some of the veterans they are keen for a day up the Loch. There are some issues still to be confirmed and we will keep you in informed.
So can we ask that you give this venture some consideration and and contact us through our social media
