Pictured above is the Trophy that will be awarded to this years club champion. Who will be the lucky recipient, well you will need to join us for our annual presentation evening on Friday 9 May. This is an important event in the clubs calendar as it helps us celebrate the history of our club and the success of our members who have been fortunate in an angling sense. The evening will begin at 7pm with the trophy presentations, there will also be available a light buffet, followed by some music and Karaoke.

Some of the trophies have historical significance and the Champions trophy was first won in 1961 by Frank Alderson, who in turn had a trophy donated to the club in his memory and was first won in 2015 by T McBride. There are several trophies to be presented covering various categories and months. Some of them like the George Brown Trophy was first won in 1998 by A.McMillan

Thomas Lynn trophy was first won in 1950 with 30lb Salmon.

Jim & Peggy McGowan memorial cup was first won in 2004 by B Sommerville

Danny Shaw memorial trophy was first won in 2002 by Eddie Lees

Jock Scott trophy was first won by J Currie in1960

The Lamont Kelly Shield was first won 1991 D Turner

John Britton memorial cup was first won1973 J Hyslop

James McNiven memorial shield was first won1973 by R Burch

James Connolly memorial cup was first won1976 by J Burch

Ian Britton memorial cup was first won1952 by J Burch

Danny Wilson cup was first won1986 by S Burke.

As you can see there is a lot of history and nostalgia attached the the trophies and some of them date back many years. It would be positive for our members to come along and celebrate this significant event that your club has arranged for you.
